Italy and France

15 July 2012

There is no excuse not to cycle in these countries. They have the best roads and the drivers are very tolerant. It's great to end my trip with some easy cycling... Except them hills.

I say hills but mountains would suit. Although tough, the scenery made it a lot easier to handle. Average pace up from India. Mainly due to good food and roads but still poorly low at around 140 miles per day. A far cry from the 180 I was doing pre accident. I do feel almost 100% though now. It's been three months and it only takes a huge hill for me to feel a twinge. Mostly its good. A little late but never the less good to feel normal again.

A few more days in France then ferry to the UK. Don't feel like I'm ready to come back but I need too. Time, money, prior commitments etc mean I have to come home. I've been on the road for 5 months. A month longer than expected. Also being in London for the Olympics was always the plan.

So I'm back on the 16th at around 7pm in Camden. Looking forward to seeing my family and friends... And having a beer.

Ps. Sorry for any typos. Trying to do this on a phone half asleep.
